Why do I want to run a Nursing College ? It is a vision. I was born and brought up in a poor family. When I was only nine My father was killed by a cobra bite. Me and my only brother and four of my sisters and our mother were thrown into the grip of poverty. My brother was seven years, sister Molly 5 years, Susan 3 years, Mary 1 year and Elsy was in my mother’s womb seven months. We became orphans. My mother was being seven months of pregnancy became a widow at the age when she was only thirty. My father was thirty three then. We became poor and hungry, lonely and depressed. It was in 1963.
I was broke. My faith in God was shattered. I asked God why. When God is such a good God why did that happen to my life ? I thought. God could have averted it. But who am I to argue with God. Now I am confirmed that it was the poor and careless medical support that was given to my father that killed him. It was possible to save his life. But we fell short of it. However later on God took control of our lives and livelihood.
There were times in my life, when me and my brother used to find food - tapioca - from the land that was left unploughed after the harvest. My three sisters were taken by an orphanage and were living there for several years. That is the reason in fact in the latter years I too wanted to help a few orphan children.
I know what it means to live without a father and how depressing poverty is. My vision is to show them a future and a livelihood. Bethel College will be a nation building work. My country would respect it. That's my vision.

We have been working together last 40 years in serving the poor and the orphans in Jharkhand. It was my pleasure to support my husband in his projects and plans. I have been a silent supporter to him always until now. I wish him success in all his venture. We have two daughters and no sons. Both of them are nurses. They are married and are settled abroad. We have six grand children too. Our both daughters have done B.Sc nursing. Beulah is a nurse in the U.S. while Hephzibah is a nurse in New Zealand.
